Tuesday night marked the annual POPAI Awards where we were delighted to win Bronze in the Short Run Temporary Display category for our work with Dr Martens.

Created to showcase those dedicated to achieving excellence in-store, the POPAI Awards are a hallmark of excellence in the retail industry. Judges assess entries against a criteria that considers shopper needs, original thinking, retail impact, relevance and performance against KPIs. This year POPAI partnered with charity partner Action Change with all donations helping to support communities in creating brighter, better and more sustainable futures.

In his foreword, POPAI Chairman, Martin Kingdon said:

We have come through the dark days of COVID…with the industry continuing to adapt, continuing to promote retail, and continuing to reflect the needs of brands, retailers and the shopper. So, we move seamlessly from a global crisis to a local one. The cost-of-living crisis will undoubtedly impact on the majority of society. What we don’t know yet is what impact it will have on our industry, if any. On a brighter note, it’s been yet another incredible year for the POPAI Awards, the highest-ever number of entries again proving both the resilience and underlying strength of our industry.”

Judges comments: The Augmented Reality element was fun, immersive and experiential. This worked during COVID – shoppers could visualise shoes without trying them on.
